We have been established since 2021 and have since garnered the support of foundations such as the James Irvine Foundation, Amalgamated Bank Foundation, Parkview Legacy Foundation, along with in-kind support from the Center for Nonprofit Management. Blended Impact Labs is fiscally sponsored by Charitable Ventures. The OpportunityWe are seeking a senior, fractional fundraising and business development professional with existing foundation relationships and a demonstrated track record securing PRI, recoverable, or investment-aligned philanthropic capital.This role is not a traditional grant-writing position. It is a relationship-driven capital formation role focused on foundation investment teams, social investment practices, and catalytic capital providers. This role is not a fit for candidates whose experience is primarily limited to traditional grant writing, grant administration, or public-sector funding without prior PRI, recoverable, or investment-aligned capital experience.Target Foundation EcosystemCandidates should have direct experience engaging investment or social-investment teams at foundations such as (and similar):Annie E. Kellogg FoundationKey ResponsibilitiesLeverage existing foundation and catalytic capital relationships to source PRIs, recoverable grants, and MRIsLead cultivation, structuring, and closing conversations with foundation program and investment teamsAdvance investment-oriented philanthropic capital aligned with real assets and venture and fund adjacent investment strategiesBuild and manage a qualified pipeline of foundation investment prospectsSupport capital-structuring narratives (PRI vs recoverable grant vs MRI)Coordinate with leadership, legal, and financial partners as needed to close investmentsWork closely with executive leadership on fundraising priorities and sequencingTranslate programmatic initiatives into investment-ready narrativesMaintain clear attribution and reporting for capital raisedIdeal Candidate Profile10+ years of experience in philanthropic fundraising, impact investing, or catalytic capital formationDemonstrated experience securing PRIs, recoverable grants, or MRIsExisting relationships with foundations or intermediaries deploying investment-aligned capitalDeep familiarity with place-based investment, real estate, and community development financeExperience working with CDCs, intermediaries, or hybrid nonprofit–fund structuresFamiliarity with California or Southern California philanthropic ecosystemsComfort operating independently in a senior, fractional roleCompensation StructureMonthly Retainer: $7,500 plus performance based tiered success feeAdditional information on key initiatives and fundraising resources available will be provided to selected candidates during the interview process.Please respond with resume and cover letter detailing major initiatives you've fundraised for in the past 3 years (2023-2025), how much you've raised, and organizations you've maintained relationships and partnerships with to make possible.
