AWS Java Full Stack Developer/EngineerLocation: Washington, DC (Hybrid/Onsite) Position Type: Contract (C2C) Duration: 12 MonthsJob Summary: We are seeking an experienced AWS Java Full Stack Developer/Engineer to join a high-performing Agile team supporting enterprise modernization initiatives for a premier client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS cloud services, and Full Stack development with experience building scalable, cloud-native applications. This role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting mission-critical enterprise applications while helping modernize legacy J2EE systems into AWS-based microservices. The successful candidate will work across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), leveraging modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, and Agile methodologies to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.Develop cloud-native microservices utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.Build RESTful APIs and integrate with enterprise applications and third-party systems.Modernize legacy J2EE applications into cloud-native architectures.Develop scalable backend services using object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.Build and optimize data processing pipelines and event-driven architectures.Participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.Develop automated unit and integration tests using TDD and BDD methodologies.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube.Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, and DevOps engineers in Agile Scrum ceremonies.Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and sprint planning sessions.Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.Ensure applications follow enterprise security, compliance, and coding standards.Create technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.7+ years of experience in Java application development.Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17 and Spring Boot.Hands-on experience developing Microservices and REST APIs.Strong AWS cloud development experience including:AWS LambdaAmazon KinesisDynamoDBAmazon AuroraAmazon RedshiftExperience with Hibernate/JPA and object-relational mapping.Strong knowledge of J2EE technologies including:ServletsJMSJDBCWeb ServicesMQConcurrent ProgrammingStrong SQL development skills with Oracle databases.Experience working with:JSONXMLXSLTJAXBSOAPRESTful APIsExperience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab.Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.Experience with Apache Kafka or event streaming technologies.Familiarity with React, Angular, or modern JavaScript frameworks.Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and CI/CD automation.Experience with SonarQube and code quality tools.Knowledge of enterprise application integration patterns.AWS Developer or AWS Solutions Architect Certification is a plus.
