Building Diagnostics Technician
The Building Diagnostics Technician is responsible for assisting the VP of CM & Building Diagnostics in managing and directing services provided by the Building Diagnostics department, which includes, but not limited to, air barrier testing, window testing, roof inspections, thermography, property condition assessments, etc.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):Perform Property Condition Assessments (PCA) for building owners / managersCreate reports that document the PCA and outline capital improvement plans for repairs and upkeep· Assist in development of presentations and management reports.· Assist VP in managing the scope review process.Perform quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systemsCheck and respond to security and safety issuesPrepare evaluations of roofing and building exterior systemsServe as the Drone Pilot for aerial photography and thermographic diagnosticsEvaluate site works, landscaping, paving, concrete Perform building envelope and window leakage inspectionsTrain junior staff, if applicableProject Administration:· Establishing and maintaining the project filing system(s) and files, managing other internal document control tools, distribution lists and facilitating quality assurance procedures and documentation for the project.· Preparing meeting minutes, agenda, and project correspondence· Keep documents of inspections and problems Project Management Support · Coordinating and/or documenting specific project functions or tasks, communications with project team members, expediting, attending customer meetings, special projects and research. Special projects and/or requests may be assigned from time to time as directed by the Director and may include research, analysis and reporting. Office Administration: Preparing correspondence, copying, coordinating mailing & express shipping, coordinating office functions, team meetings and other general tasks related to office and office supports systems. Assist in proposal writing and assembly. Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Associate degree in engineering, or Architecture or High school diploma with three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in technical or administrative fields in Engineering, Design and/or Construction with a minimum of 3+years of direct project administration experience. FAA Remote Pilot Certification preferred. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with various team members including government agencies, clients, manufacturing vendors, subcontractors and field personnel. Professional attitude and strong work ethic required. High proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project required. Hands-on experience with mechanical diagnostic equipment. Basic working knowledge of mechanical tools, including various wrenches, drivers, sockets, and pliers. Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. The employee must perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, roofs, etc. and use lifts in industrial and construction environments to perform assessments in multi-story buildings
