Director of Construction

A well-established and growing commercial construction company is seeking a Director of Construction to lead its General Contracting division. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced construction professional who excels at managing teams, driving operational excellence, and overseeing multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director of Construction will be responsible for overseeing project managers, superintendents, and support staff while ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and at the highest quality standardsWhat you will be doing:Lead and manage the General Construction department, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and support personnel.Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and professional development to construction teams.Oversee multiple commercial construction projects and ensure successful execution.Maintain project profitability, scheduling, quality control, and client satisfaction.Establish and improve construction operations, subcontracting practices, job costing procedures, and project controls.Develop and enforce company safety programs and quality assurance standards.Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.Conduct regular jobsite visits to review project progress, safety compliance, quality standards, and field operations.Assist project teams in resolving complex project challenges and operational issuesWhat you need for this position:10+ years of commercial construction experience with increasing leadership responsibility.Strong background in General Contracting and commercial construction projects.Government, Federal, VA, or public-sector construction experience.Benefits:Salary:$115k+Full Health, Dental andVision401k MatchSolid PTO/Sick TimeCell AllowanceVehicle allowance/mileageAnd More!
