AI Agent Software Engineer

Full-Stack Engineer Our client is building production-ready AI agents that handle complex, real-world customer interactions at scale. As a Full-Stack Engineer on the Agent Engineering team, you'll design, build, and ship AI-powered products used by enterprises in high-impact industries. This is a hands-on engineering role where you own your work end-to-endfrom initial design and architecture through implementation, deployment, and continuous iteration. You'll work directly with leadership and customers, bringing together full-stack development, AI/ML, and large language model experience to create agents that feel more capable and responsive than traditional human support teams. What You'll DoDesign and build AI agents that manage complex customer conversations, drive retention, and deliver measurable business outcomes. Develop and maintain full-stack systems in Python and TypeScript, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and low-latency performance. Integrate and evaluate cutting-edge text and voice models Use data from multiple customers to identify cross-customer patterns and influence the direction of the agent platform and underlying architecture. Collaborate closely with product, research, and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into technical solutions that can scale Continuously experiment, run evaluations, and refine agents based on real-world feedback and rigorous metrics. What We're Looking For2+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer or Software Engineer at a high-growth startup, trading firm, or tech company known for a high engineering bar. Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, including experience with asynchronous programming, APIs, and distributed systems. Proven experience building and shipping AI or ML-driven products (LLMs, machine learning pipelines, recommendation or conversational systems, etc.). Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering Demonstrated career progression and ownership Comfortable working across the stack Clear motivation to join a rapidly growing startup and work on-site in San Francisco, 5 days per week in a highly collaborative environment.
