Engine, Turbine, and Power Transmission Equipment ManufacturingCommercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and MaintenanceSpring and Wire Product ManufacturingAmusement Parks and ArcadesIndustrial Machinery ManufacturingOur Client, an Internet Content and Information company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer III for their Redmond, WA location.Responsibilities:Drive rapid-prototyping efforts that will deliver multiple iterations of concepts in a short period of time.Drive end-to-end discussions on system assembly process down-selection, prototyping, equipment & tooling needs for high precision assembly meeting mechanical, optical and reliability requirements.Work closely with external equipment manufacturers, part suppliers, integrators to support technology deployment and development.Support process validation studies and proof-of-concept builds.Contribute to FMEA, failure analysis, tolerance analysis, gauge R&R, and the GD&T activities supporting product and prototyping development.Requirements:Preferred qualificationsExperience using NX and/or SolidWorks preferred.MS, PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.Prior experience in wearable electronics packaging technologies.Prior experience owning the design from concept to ship of optical-mechanical components, cameras, or equivalent.Knowledge of image processing and optical-display metrics, such as MTF, contrast, luminance, uniformity etc.Experience with design and prototyping of head-mounted optical systems and/or bench-top optical setups.Knowledge of component/module mounting, interfaces, and adhesive bonding.Familiar with electrical system drivers and automation equipment operations.Knowledge of structural and stress analysis and FEA.Must-Have Skills:Mechanical or optomechanical background with proven working knowledge of high precision alignment process development of optical imaging, display or sensing assemblies, as well as rapid prototyping skills.3+ years of experience using 3D CAD software to work on large assemblies in a document controlled environment.Experience working with international equipment vendors and international contract manufacturersNice-to-have Skills :Experience using NX and/or SolidWorks preferred.Prior experience owning the design from concept to ship of optical-mechanical components, cameras, or equivalent.Knowledge of image processing and optical-display metrics, such as MTF, contrast, luminance, uniformity etc.Experience with design and prototyping of head-mounted optical systems and/or bench-top optical setups.Why Should You Apply?Excellent growth and advancement opportunitiesICONMA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
