By integrating manufacturing and distribution, React Health addresses the needs of both undiagnosed individuals and those requiring therapy after diagnosis, particularly within the sleep and respiratory care sectors.General SummaryAs Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for designs, develops, prototypes, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Develops specifications for new parts or prototypes. Identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Uses CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products. Conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products.QualificationsA minimum of 5 years of industry experienceBS in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldLab skills: familiar with test equipment - e.g., Thermal chambers, Sound testing, and other mechanical test equipment (hands on work required). Experience applying GD&T to mechanical components and assemblies Familiarity and/or experience with design simulations such as FEA, CFD and thermal analysis Assist with generating test protocols and performing verification and validation testing. Direct experience with CAD and other mechanical design software Creative thinking, problem solving and innovation skills Commercial awareness, including an understanding of target user and market Self-motivated and able to set personal and professions goals, and able to achieve these goals with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Electro-mechanical systems and injection moldingPreferred EducationMS in Mechanical Engineering or related field Preferred ExperienceExperience in the medical device industry and medical device quality systemsInjection molding and/or working closely with plastic manufacturers Solidworks CAD modeling 3D Printer experience for rapid prototypes Electro-mechanical design Experience with Pressure and Flow systems Sound mitigation Experience with development of medical devices in accordance with IEC 60601 and FDA regulatory requirements. Familiar with all levels of documentation associated with new product development.Excellent attention to detail and project management skills.Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.Physical DemandsRequires normal visual acuity and hearing; lifting items up to 20 Pounds.Moving equipment and products will be expected on a daily basis. Required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard. Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.Working ConditionsWill work in an Engineering Lab based environment.Will work with different equipment to assemble or test medical devices.Duties And Essential FunctionsEach Employee consistently demonstrates the following essential functions:Support design changes to existing systems, mechanical components and assemblies. Complete design analysis on existing systems, mechanical components and assemblies for quality improvement.Work in a cross functional team consisting of Electrical and Embedded Firmware engineers as well as Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Regulatory Affairs Associates Design and assemble prototypes Identifying deficiencies in mechanical designs and developing improvements Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors within a regulated environment. Work with all aspects of development including system specifications, risk management, V&V test plans, traceability matrices, test protocols, and test reports. Review system and hardware designs from a mechanical perspective. Work with supply chain partners for design for manufacturability Attends and participates in departmental meetings.
