This position manages mitigation crews, coordinates emergency response activities, ensures proper drying and remediation procedures are followed, maintains communication with customers and insurance representatives, and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitablyThe Mitigation Project Manager supervises the mitigation department and is responsible for maintaining quality standards, production goals, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company procedures and industry standards including IICRC guidelinesThis is an AT WILL position EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Manage all water, mold, and emergency mitigation projectsSupervise mitigation technicians and crew chiefsCoordinate emergency response and after-hours on-call schedulingPerform site inspections for water, mold, sewage, and related mitigation lossesDevelop mitigation scopes of work and drying plansMonitor drying progress using moisture meters, thermal imaging, and psychrometric readingsEnsure all mitigation documentation is accurate and uploaded dailyReview and approve mitigation job files, photos, moisture logs, and equipment usageWrite and review estimates using Xactimate and Symbility and any related industry softwareCommunicate directly with customers, insurance adjusters, property managers, and vendorsEnsure all projects meet company quality standards and profitability goalsTrain and mentor mitigation staff in proper procedures, safety standards, and customer serviceConduct regular jobsite visits and quality control inspectionsEnsure compliance with IICRC standards, OSHA regulations, and company safety proceduresCoordinate equipment scheduling, inventory, and warehouse organizationAssist in hiring, evaluating, coaching, and developing mitigation department staffWork closely with reconstruction/project management staff to ensure smooth transition from mitigation to rebuildParticipate in marketing and relationship-building activities with adjusters, plumbers, property managers, and referral partnersRespond to emergency situations as needed, including evenings and weekendsAttend company meetings and training eventsOther duties as assigned. Ability To:Manage multiple mitigation projects simultaneouslyLead and motivate mitigation technicians and field staffHandle emergency and high-stress situations professionallyRead and interpret moisture mapping, drying reports, and mitigation documentationProduce accurate estimates and scopes of workMaintain strong customer communication throughout projectsDelegate tasks efficiently and monitor project progressMaintain organized project files and documentationTrain employees on mitigation procedures and safety requirementsResolve customer concerns and project-related issues promptlyWork independently while maintaining accountability and communication Knowledge of:Water mitigation and mold remediation proceduresIICRC standards including S500 and S520Structural drying principles and psychrometryXactimate, Symbility, DASH, MICA, PLNAR, Docusketch and related industry softwareOSHA safety regulations and PPE requirementsMoisture detection and monitoring equipmentInsurance claims processes and mitigation documentation requirementsEmergency service operations and schedulingProper equipment setup for drying, dehumidification, and air filtration EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum 3–5 years of water mitigation/restoration management experienceSupervisory or leadership experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredIICRC certifications preferred (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT, etc.)Experience with Xactimate estimating software preferredValid driver's license required LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred certifications may include: IICRC WRTASDAMRTFSRT PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials up to 75 lbs.Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, wet environments, and properties affected by water, mold, sewage, or fire damageFrequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and liftingAbility to wear PPE including respirators as required We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are an organization that values diversity.
