Enjoy the summer sun while working with Crew - great sunsets guaranteed!VENUEThe Yacht ClubThe Yacht Club is a waterfront dining, drinking, and events destination - a full New York City block in the sky - on the 10th floor of Chelsea's 1930s masterpiece of industrial architecture, the landmarked Starrett Lehigh building.DETAILSJob OverviewPosition SummaryExpediters provide a critical support system for the restaurant, ensuring quality control and proper presentation of food in a timely manner.Expediters act as a liaison between the Front of House, the Back of House, and Oyster Shuckers to provide guests with efficient and thoughtfully timed service. Expediters must have a critical eye for detail and a strong sense of pride in their work; the guest experience is directly related to the ability of the Expediter to communicate and perform assigned duties.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesComply with Company and Department of Health established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards; observe proper food preparation and handling techniques and safety protocolsComply with Company safety plan and standards as set forth in training materialsEnsure that all kitchen and oyster orders are prepared and delivered in a timely manner, according to menu and customer specifications, consistently following protocol for ticket handling and communicationFinalize the presentation of each plate and test food temperatures as per Company trainingKeep work area neat and clean at all times to ensure DOH standards are metLiaise between Front of House and Back of House team membersMaintain knowledge and understanding of every item on the menu and answer guest questions with clarity and confidence, providing recommendations upon requestReport to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policySet up and breakdown station to specification; perform cleaning tasks at the conclusion of each service and prepare for the following serviceWork in collaboration with staff to ensure food and beverage is received by guests in a timely mannerMinimum QualificationsAbility to perform essential job functions when working in a high business volume, fast-paced environmentAbility to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functionsAble to lift 15+ lbs.Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the businessFluent in both written and spoken EnglishKnowledge of or willingness to learn about OystersMust love sunsetsPolished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee HandbookWillingness to work in outdoor climate conditionsPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
