Join us.Your DepartmentAJC's Regional Offices connect the local communities with AJC's global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. We maintain the agency's nationwide presence by attracting leaders and donors to AJC, enhancing the organization's influence with key local, national, and international decision makers and stakeholders, implementing advocacy initiatives at the state and local level, and establishing and nurturing community relationships.Your ImpactThis position makes an impact at AJC by managing work with moderate, but important impact on the organization's mission and goals. Works with regular oversight to solve moderately complex problems and make moderate and significant decisions.Incumbents manage programs, projects, initiatives, and events that advance AJC's mission and advocacy efforts. Working under direct supervision, this position is responsible for planning and executing departmental strategies, engaging and communicating with influential stakeholders, and building coalitions and partnerships.Your RoleContribute to the development and execution of the department's strategy, goals, objectives, and action plansManage and facilitate advocacy and outreach programs, projects, initiatives, events, meetings, trainings, and/or missionsImplement new opportunities to expand departmental initiatives beyond existing programsMay participate and support the work of Boards, committees, task forces, or working groupsLeverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiativesMay assist with development efforts, including participation in fundraising initiatives and plans, donor outreach, providing materials for grant applications and reports, and related activitiesMaintain and manage programmatic spending for initiatives they work onResearch, monitor, and report on developments, issues, and trends impacting the department and AJC prioritiesCoordinate, attend, and/or lead meetingsDevelop relationships with and engage strategic contacts, groups, and organizationsSupport the building of coalitions, partnerships, and initiatives with organizations and other external partners to further AJC's missionAssist in representing AJC and the department in the community, at functions, and in other public forumsDraft, edit, and disseminate communications resources and materialsSpecific to This RoleThe successful candidate will bring to the role solid experience managing all aspects of complex programs, including logistics, media, and strategic concerns focused on brand awareness and advocacy enhancement. The new Assistant Director will also be focused on partnership development and other ways that programs can advance the offices strategic goals.
