If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.About The RoleThe Director, Accounting Policy will lead the company’s accounting policy, technical interpretation, and complex transaction advisory functions across global operations, ensuring compliance with IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and SEC reporting requirements.This role partners closely with leadership to maintain the integrity and consistency of accounting practices across multiple jurisdictions and provide authoritative guidance on technical accounting matters. You will play a critical role in supporting strategic initiatives such as M&A, joint ventures, and financing structures in a high-growth environment.You’ll oversee financial due diligence, policy alignment, and purchase accounting for transactions, while preparing technical accounting memos, monitoring evolving standards, and managing auditor and regulatory interactions.What You’ll Be DoingAccounting Policy & Technical AccountingLead M&A transaction workstreams, including financial due diligence, policy alignment, and purchase accountingInterpret and apply U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance for complex transactions (revenue recognition, business combinations, stock-based compensation, debt/equity, leases)Develop and maintain accounting policies, technical memos, and position papersMonitor emerging accounting standards and lead implementation across the businessU.S. & International ReportingSupport preparation and review of U.S. GAAP financial statements and SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), including MD&ABuild processes for dual IFRS and U.S. GAAP reporting and consolidationEstablish governance and documentation frameworks for future public company readinessDesign and implement internal controls aligned with SOX 404 requirementsPartner with auditors and advisors to ensure audit readiness and complianceBusiness & Cross-Functional PartnershipAdvise Finance leadership and stakeholders on accounting implications of strategic initiativesPartner with Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Corporate Development on transaction structuringProvide technical training and guidance to finance teamsExternal Auditor & GovernanceAct as the primary liaison with external auditors on technical accounting mattersSupport Audit Committee materials related to accounting policies and judgmentsContribute to internal control design and documentationContinuous ImprovementDrive process improvements to standardize and scale accounting operationsPromote automation and innovation in accounting workflowsSupport system integration and operational scalabilityAbout YouQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)10+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, including leadership experienceStrong expertise in technical accounting, M&A, and financial reporting under IFRS and U.S. GAAPExperience managing complex accounting areas such as consolidations, leases, and revenue recognitionProven ability to build and scale reporting processes across multiple entities and jurisdictionsExperience implementing new accounting standards and driving policy adoptionStrong understanding of SOX and internal control frameworksExcellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skillsNice to HaveExperience in a high-growth technology or cloud infrastructure companyExposure to IPO readiness or public company reportingExperience with dual IFRS and U.S. GAAP reportingBackground working across international operationsStrong project management and change leadership experienceWhy Join Nscale?At Nscale, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the financial foundation of a cutting-edge AI infrastructure company.Competitive compensation (base + equity) with annual reviewsClear progression and growth opportunitiesA collaborative, high-performance environmentRemote-first culture with flexibility to support work-life balanceOpportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-growing companyEqual OpportunitiesWe are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs.
