This person is going to be working on a lean team of 3-4 individuals. They have a 3,000+ virtual server environment and are looking for someone with experience overseeing this size of environment. They will be working with both internal (80%) and external customers (20%). This person is going to be doing troubleshooting on the VMware environment. They will also be setting up, configuring, and optimizing data store clusters. Our client is also looking for an individual who is proficient in IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code), VisualBasic, and VCF. The responsibilities surrounding these areas are listed below. The ideal candidate has a passion for system enhancements and administration using best practices, modern security best practices, and information technology solutions.Some additional responsibilities will include:Performing live migrations and disaster recovery operationsAdministering mostly windows-based serversAutomation & Scripting using IaC and Visual BasicTroubleshooting across vCenter, ESXi, and NSX-T layersSetting up vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC ManagerUsing Visual Basic for tasks such as:ScriptingAutomating Windows-based server tasksManaging Active Directory and IIS configurationsPerforming basic inventory operations in vSphere environmentsUsing IaC for tasks such as:Automating the provisioning, configuration, and management of virtual infrastructure especially in environments using vSphere, vCenter, and NSX-TConfiguration Managementto configure performance monitoring tools like vCops, ensuring clusters are optimized and compliantUsing VCF for tasks such as:design and deploy VCF stacks tailored to enterprise needsSetting up vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC ManagerSecurity complianceAutomation scripting
