Linux System Administrator

SpinSytems is seeking individuals to fill a remote role of Junior Linux System Administrator. The qualified individuals will administer Linux OSs running on multiple flavors/versions, m anage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Linux OS on physical and virtual OEs, provide technical oversight and consultation services under others.Job Duties And Responsibilities Work as part of a system administrators’ team that is customer focused to ensure the successful delivery of integrated solutions. Provide hardware/software support for application servers, web servers, database servers Participate in evaluation, testing, selection, and deployment of foundational open-source software. Provide administration solutions and support software platforms to include all GOTS and COTS applications. Provide input for documentation on new or existing systems. Participates in special projects as required in support of proof of concepts and research different technology options. Write automation scripts for repeatable tasks Participate in all phases of the system deployment and configuration lifecycle. Engage in service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning. Work closely with lead system administrators to support researching, recommending and adopting best practices. Develop skills within existing applications in-order to be able to diagnose and fix issues. Apply and Maintain DOD Security Configurations on Operating Systems and Applications. Ability to effectivelycommunicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate optionsat senior management levels.
