Lead Developer (AWS & Python)Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)Job Type: 6-12 Months Contract – W2/C2CRole OverviewWe are looking for a highly skilled Lead Developer with strong AWS and Python expertise to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications. This role will combine deep technical hands-on work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of developers while partnering with business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical LeadershipLead architecture, design, and development of applications using Python and AWS servicesEstablish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and design patternsConduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable codeDrive technical decisions and provide strategic direction for engineering initiativesAWS Cloud DevelopmentDesign and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on AWSWork with AWS services such as: Lambda, ECS, EKS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, CloudFormation / Terraform (IaC)Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and costSoftware DevelopmentDevelop robust backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django)Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architecturesLead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)DevOps & AutomationDesign and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)Collaborate closely with DevOps and infrastructure teamsTeam LeadershipMentor and coach a team of developers in Atlanta and remote locationsAssist with hiring, onboarding, and performance managementFoster a collaborative, high-performance team environmentStakeholder EngagementWork with product managers, architects, and business teams to define requirementsTranslate business needs into scalable technical solutionsProvide status updates, risk assessments, and technical insights to leadershipRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)10+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a lead roleStrong hands-on expertise in PythonExtensive experience with AWS cloud platformProven experience designing microservices and distributed systemsStrong understanding of REST APIs, system design, and scalable architecturesExperience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)Preferred QualificationsAWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or Professional)Experience in industries common in Atlanta (FinTech, Healthcare, Logistics)Familiarity with event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, Kafka)Knowledge of security and compliance best practicesAgile/Scrum experienceKey SkillsStrong leadership and mentoring capabilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving ability
