Senior Tax Manager

Job Title: Senior Tax Manager, CPADepartment: TaxLocation: Remote or HybridSuccessful candidates should have the following:7+ years of public accounting experience2+ years of supervisory or management experiencePossess a broad understanding of Tax Law with specialized knowledge in a particular area(s) of partnerships, HNW individuals, corporate, taxation of pass-throughs, entities, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and/or financial planningAbility to prepare working trial balance and year-end adjusting entriesEducational Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fieldsA CPA certification is requiredStrong technical expertise in tax preparation and review, tax compliance, and tax researchExcellent skills, analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to utilize Excel, Word, and CCH AxcessOutstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, fostering client and staff relationshipsA day-in-the-life basic overview includes:Responsible for the review of high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, gift and estate returns, trust preparations, joint ventures, noncorporate entity tax returns, combined state tax returns, and tax complianceReview very complex individual tax returnsManage and develop income tax and financial planning clientsWork closely with tax partners and other tax staff on client management, practice development, and business development activitiesMaintain active communication with clients to manage their expectations, ensure client satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectivelyConsult, collaborate with, and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvements, and serve as a business adviser to clientsSupervise and help drive the success of multiple engagements in partnership and individual taxationPreparing year-end projectionsResearching various Tax issuesMentoring Associates and guiding them on Tax issuesMaintaining presentation skills (oral and written)Benefits: G|S offers market-leading benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, a profit-sharing plan, parental leave, and a 401(k) match. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the market demand, education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.The compensation above is not representative of an employee’s total compensation.
