Preconstruction Manager Utility Scale RenewablesWe’re partnered with a fast-growing EPC contractor seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to support utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a strong emphasis on battery energy storage systems.This role sits at the forefront of project development owning pursuits from early client engagement through pre-mobilization while driving estimating strategy, design coordination, and execution planning.Key ResponsibilitiesLead preconstruction efforts across utility-scale renewable projects (solar + BESS)Manage cross-functional teams spanning estimating, engineering, and procurementAct as the primary point of contact for clients during the preconstruction phaseReview drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify risks and gapsOwn the estimating process, including strategy, pricing, and client presentationsDrive design coordination and oversee engineering partners through IFC documentationSupport contract review, scope definition, and risk mitigation strategiesContribute to EPC agreement reviews alongside senior leadershipEvaluate project risks across engineering, procurement, and executionSupport change order development including cost, schedule, and claims analysisAlign project schedules with procurement timelines and equipment deliveryOversee budgets and financial performance during preconstructionLead multiple pursuits simultaneously (typically 1–2 projects)Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and stakeholdersMentor and develop junior team members while fostering high-performance teamsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in construction project management, engineering, or preconstructionProven experience on utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar and/or BESS strongly preferred)Strong understanding of project lifecycle including estimating, design, procurement, and executionAbility to identify risks and proactively drive solutions across complex projectsExcellent communication skills with experience interfacing with clients and senior stakeholdersProficiency in tools such as Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and industry-standard construction softwareAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExperience mentoring and developing project teamsWhy Apply?Join a rapidly growing EPC with a strong pipeline of utility-scale projectsHigh-impact role with visibility across leadership and clientsOpportunity to shape projects from early-stage development through executionCompetitive compensation, relocation support, and strong benefits package
