Workday Payroll Manager

Workday Payroll Manager – 3 Month Contract to Hire Hale International is excited to be partnering with a leading organization in search of an experienced Workday Payroll Manager to support their payroll operations during a critical period. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery across a multi-entity, US-based workforce.Key Responsibilities:Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried employees and contractors on a biweekly, multi-state basis.Oversee and manage OSV (payroll processor) and ensure smooth payroll operations.Process off-cycle payments and handle payroll adjustments as required.Run, review, and reconcile payroll audit reports and payroll accounts.Monitor and manage payroll communications, including the payroll inbox.Ensure accurate handling of time-off balances and payroll-related impacts.Support payroll-related financial processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reporting.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including California payroll requirements.Partner with HR and Finance to support payroll accuracy and employee lifecycle changes (new hires, terminations, pay changes).Assist with audits by preparing and providing payroll documentation.Contribute to ongoing improvements as systems (including Deltek integration into Workday) evolve.Experience Required:Minimum 5+ years of payroll experience, with strong exposure to multi-state payroll processing.Proven experience managing payroll for California employees.Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll, including processing, reporting, and administration.Strong understanding of payroll accounting, compliance, and audit processes.Experience working as a standalone or lead payroll professional.Familiarity with OSV payroll processing is highly desirable.Experience with Deltek (FINS system) is advantageous but not essential.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.If you’re a hands-on Workday Payroll expert with strong multi-state experience and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.
