Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee the firm’s general ledger and financial reporting functions. The Accounting Manager will ensure accurate account reconciliations, produce timely financial and statistical reports for leadership and external stakeholders, and supervise accounting staff. This role requires a detail-focused professional who communicates effectively at all organizational levels and can manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Open to fully remote but must be located in one of the following states: NY, NJ, CA, D.C., FL, IL, IN, LA, MA, MN, MS, MO, OH, RI, TXKey ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining the general ledger and overseeing bookkeeping activities.Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and reconciliations.Prepare and deliver financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc financial analyses for senior management.Supervise and mentor accounting team members, including direct oversight of senior accountants.Review and approve journal entries and ensure appropriate posting by the accounting team.Maintain cash flow and expense forecasts and produce recurring and custom financial reports.Reconcile partner equity accounts monthly and support fixed asset accounting and depreciation entries (Sage Fixed Assets or similar).Analyze variances between actuals and budgets/capital plans and recommend improvements to planning and reporting processes.Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and process efficiencies.Required QualificationsMinimum 8 years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation.Proven experience owning period close processes (monthly/quarterly/yearly) and account reconciliations.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.Hands-on experience with commercial accounting/bookkeeping systems (examples: Aderant, Sage Fixed Assets, Iridium, or comparable platforms).Excellent leadership, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills.Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage competing deadlines.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
