Title: Construction Project Engineer (entry to mid-level)Location: Lenexa, KansasPay: $80k-$120k base (DOE) + bonus We have been in business for the last 50+ years and have a very strong track record in the following fields (in order of most pressing at the moment):Public Sector - Fire Station, Police Facility, City HallsMixed Use - Large Multi Family with Retail, Retail, Class A Office TowersHealthcare - Medical Offices, Surgical CentersPosition SummaryThe Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist Project Managers with the planning and execution of commercial construction projects.Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation.Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain project progress.Track procurement of materials and long-lead items to support project schedules.Monitor project budgets, cost reports, and subcontractor commitments.Assist with project scheduling and identify potential risks or delays.Participate in project meetings and communicate action items to the project team.Support quality control and ensure work complies with contract documents and company standards.Help facilitate project closeout, including punch lists, as-built drawings, warranties, and final documentation.Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all company and OSHA safety requirements.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.1+ years of experience supporting commercial construction projects.Understanding of construction methods, project scheduling, contracts, and building systems.Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software preferred.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred ExperienceCommercial construction experience in healthcare, multifamily, mixed-use, municipal, or office projects.Knowledge of design-build or construction management delivery methods.OSHA 30 certification is a plus.What we offer:Primarily local projects with no overnight travel required.Diverse portfolio of projects across varying sizes, scopes, and ownership groups.Benefits:Base salary ranging from $80k-$120k base (DOE) + bonusComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plans with company match.Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
