Miltec has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Service Technician to join our team in Stevensville, Maryland. This individual will train under Miltec’s Technical Service Team to learn about Miltec’s unique UV equipment, applications, and processes. The Senior Service Technician will provide exceptional service to our customers while contributing to the company’s overall success and growth. JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Service Technician will commission equipment in the field and perform repairs, equipment wiring, equipment testing, lamp testing, R&D testing, and technical writing. Ensures customer satisfaction. This position works closely with Engineering in support of new applications and equipment. Field service includes domestic and international customer sites. This is a hands-on role with travel responsibilities. Once trained, the incumbent will work under minimal supervision. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Equipment wiring, (high voltage / low voltage), PLC wiring (both in-house and in the field). Exemplary communication skills, consistently representing Miltec with professionalism. Demonstrates a professional appearance and behavior. Advanced equipment wiring techniques to include cutting, terminating, soldering, and crimping wire and knowledge of wire/cable size and type for each application. Read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools and electrical test equipment. Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely customer feedback and support. Diagnose, repair and test Miltec equipment and proficient in learning and mastering the operation of UV equipment from Miltec’s competitors. Travel to customer sites, both domestic and international, to install and service equipment. Replace and repair parts. Support rollout of new applications and equipment. Talking customers through a series of actions to resolve problems. Train customers in equipment operation. Ability to procedurally document problems and solutions. Provide accurate and timely field service reports. Follows all departmental policies and procedures and helps to develop other Miltec employees. Diligent safety practices and a dedicated work ethic. Generate sales leads and preventative maintenance contracts/pricing. Other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated ability to work with hand tools, knowledge of electrical wiring techniques, knowledge of basic computer skills, demonstrated ability to understand electrical schematics, ability to use basic electrical measurement instruments. Demonstrated technical skills and expertise and the ability to operate independently once trained. Experience with remote desktop applications. Able to lift 75 lbs., install subsystems into process equipment, and make equipment adjustments. Ability to maneuver and operate in confined spaces. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels at customer sites. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate with staff members and customers regarding all related materials. Attention to detail and above average problem-solving skills. Competent knowledge for providing solutions to complex problems. Critical decision-making skills. Valid driver’s license and unexpired passport or ability to immediately obtain a passport. Available to travel to customer locations as required with minimal notice. Ability to be on call and provide 24/7 service. Computer skills (knowledge of MS word, excel and outlook) and ability to operate general software applications. ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES: Must be a self-starting, "hands-on" technical professional with the ability to function with minimal supervision. Must be able to quickly adapt to activities in response to fast-changing priorities. Technical certifications Willing to take additional training and/or certification classes. 5 - 8 plus years’ experience troubleshooting and servicing industrial equipment. Leadership and team building skills. Detail oriented and highly organized. COMPENSATION: Competitive salary is based on experience. Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401K (with match), PTO, holidays, and more. WORK HOURS: Miltec business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. We offer three optional flexible work schedules: Plan A – Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 1 hour lunch (40 hours) Plan B – Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 1 hour lunch OR 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 30-minute lunch (40 hours) – Friday off Plan C – Tuesday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 1 hour lunch OR 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 30-minute lunch (40 hours) – Monday off Please reply with resume and salary requirements.
