Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of visual disorders. This role requires a strong understanding of ophthalmology and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. The Optometrist will also be expected to maintain accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments for visual impairments.
Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and the proper use of eyewear.
Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
Assist in the management of optical inventory and supplies.
Experience
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical coding, medical terminology, and vital signs is advantageous.
Knowledge of physiology related to eye health is beneficial.
Proficiency in managing medical records systems and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
