Audio Technician

AUDIO TECHNICIAN (CONTRACTOR-PART TIME)THUNDER & LIGHTNING, LLC, a professional audio and stage lighting company located in the DMV area is conducting a search for contractor/freelance Audio Technicians. In this role, you will support the mission of Thunder & Lightning by assisting with support, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of audio equipment used within various performance venues. Duties:·      Support and operate show control, interactive, audio, video and lighting systems in exhibit galleries and performance venues/meeting spaces·      Troubleshoot system problems to quickly restore normal operation·      Assist with system and equipment maintenance and repair to maintain high performance quality and long-term reliability·      Perform occasional lifting of audio equipment (up to 50 lbs)·      Other duties as assigned Education:·      Associate degree in technical major or equivalent experience preferred Qualifications:·      Minimum 2 years of previous audio experience. CTS and other certifications are a plus. Dante certification a plus Skills:·      Experience utilizing audio console systems (AVID, Digico, Yamaha, Midas, Behringer)·      General knowledge of IT networking principles and hardware (CAT6/6A, Fiber Optic, Network Switches)·      Able to effectively troubleshoot audio system problems·      Understanding of signal flow in electronic systems·      Ability to organize and prioritize tasks·      Able to maintain and project calm demeanor in stressful situations·      Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing·      Demonstrate integrity, professionalism and high ethics·      Willingness to continually learn and grow as technology changes
