This vibrant city offers a welcoming community, parks, arts, and a thriving downtown — a great place for work-life balance while on a travel nurse assignment./n/nJob Details/n/nWeekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100/nLocation: Des Moines, IA 50314 (Des Moines healthcare / Iowa nursing jobs)/nSetting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) — LTAC nurse role/nEmployment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse Position/nDuration: 13 weeks/nHours per Week: 36/nShift: 12 Hour Nights (3x12) — Night Shift RN/nStart Date: ASAP/n/n/nJob Requirements/n/nMinimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience; LTAC, critical care, thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute, pediatric PACU, or pediatric OR experience preferred/nActive Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state license as required for travel nursing)/nBLS Certification required prior to first shift/nACLS Certification required prior to first shift/nStrong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient rehabilitation skills/nPrevious travel nursing experience or contract experience a plus/n/n/nResponsibilities/n/nDeliver high-quality patient care in an LTAC setting by following and updating individualized nursing care plans/nPerform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop/implement individualized care plans/nSupervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees; provide training and direction/nParticipate in multidisciplinary patient rehabilitation programs and direct patient care using the nursing process/nIdentify patient and family teaching needs; initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission/nProvide timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record/nCommunicate clinical changes in patient status to physicians and interdisciplinary care team members/nAssume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation/nPromote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards/nEngage in ongoing professional growth and continuing education to maintain clinical competence/nContribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment/n/n/nApply now to join our Des Moines LTAC team — ideal for RN travel nurses and LTAC specialists.
