The Adult Peer Support Specialist will use their personal experiences in recovery to offer guidance, resources, and encouragement to individuals navigating similar challenges. Daily responsibilities include providing peer counseling, facilitating support groups, aiding in crisis intervention, and collaborating with the team to create individualized recovery plans. This role also involves actively engaging clients, identifying barriers to recovery, and connecting individuals with helpful community resources and services.QualificationsStrong Communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapportCertified as an A.P.S.S. with KentuckyExperience or capabilities in providing Technical and Emotional Support to individuals in a recovery settingEmpathy, patience, and the ability to actively listen and understand others' experiencesPrior experience working in a recovery-focused environment is advantageousA personal history of recovery is highly valued
