Finding the right match for this role is a critical aspect of continuing that success.OverviewThe Senior Procurement Specialist drives procurement activities across a high-value CAPEX materials and services portfolio for a power company. This position is responsible for translating procurement strategy into tangible outputs, decisions, and executed contracts, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve cost, efficiency, and supplier performance. This role combines ownership of procurement models, sourcing execution, supplier engagement, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective, and risk-managed procurement outcomes.This is a 3-6 month contract consulting project with the possibility of temp-hire for the right candidate. All qualified candidates must live in the United States and be fully authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship or transfer. This role is remote in the US and will require monthly travel to client sites.ResponsibilitiesProcurement Execution & Delivery (Hands-On Ownership)Own and drive end-to-end procurement activities including RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluations, negotiations, and award executionManage procurement timelines and ensure alignment with project schedules, milestones, and delivery requirementsTrack and maintain procurement logs, award trackers, and supplier status updates including dashboard trackers and reporting frameworksStrategic Sourcing & Commercial OptimizationDevelop sourcing strategies balancing cost, schedule, quality, and riskAnalyze supplier markets and identify competitive and pricing benchmarksSupport commercial negotiations, including pricing, terms, and risk allocationContinuously identify cost savings and value optimization opportunitiesProcurement Analytics & Model OwnershipOwn complex Excel-based procurement and pricing models ensuring accuracy,Perform detailed analysis of bids, cost structures, and supplier proposalsMaintain cost comparisons, cost models, and benchmarking analysesGenerate procurement reports, summaries, and executive-ready materialsSupplier & Stakeholder ManagementServe as a primary point of contact for suppliersFacilitate cross-functional alignment with different business teams on specifications, scope, and timelinesSupport resolution of supplier issues, delivery risks, and commercial disputesContracting, Risk & ComplianceSupport review, and execution of contracts, purchase orders, and commercial agreementsIdentify and manage procurement risks, including supply chain, pricing, and contract exposureProcess Improvement & Procurement EnablementIdentify gaps in current procurement processes and implement improvements to workflows, templates, and toolsStandardize RFP formats, evaluation criteria, and supplier communication approachesRequirementsBachelor's degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field preferred)5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or consulting with a procurement focusExperience supporting high-value CAPEX procurement programs (in the billions)Industry experience in power, energy or infrastructure procurement is preferredExperience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within EPC, infrastructure, or capital project environmentsStrong acumen and ability to evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate effectivelyProven ability to independently drive procurement processes from initiation through contract awardAdvanced Excel proficiency with ability to build and enhance complex procurement and pricing modelsStrong analytical skills with ability to translate data into clear, actionable insightsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, execution-focused consulting environmentHighly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreamsManagement consulting with sourcing or procurement focus is helpfulOur team is unique — we are passionate about what we do.
