Experienced Extrusion Machine operator

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Extrusion Machine Operator to operate and monitor plastic film extrusion lines. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with LLDPE/stretch film extrusion, understands quality control, and can independently manage machine settings, material changes, and basic troubleshooting. This role is critical to maintaining consistent quality, efficiency, and safety on the production floor. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machines for plastic film production Adjust temperatures, pressures, speeds, gauges, and die settings to meet product specifications Load and manage raw materials (LLDPE, mLLDPE, additives, masterbatch) Monitor film quality including gauge, haze, clarity, strength, and winding Identify and correct process issues such as bubbles, gels, thickness variation, and breakage Perform routine machine checks, cleaning, and preventive maintenance Accurately complete production logs, QC records, and material usage reports Follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures Work with supervisors to meet production targets and minimize scrap Assist in training junior operators when needed Required Qualifications Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience operating plastic extrusion machines Experience with blown film or cast stretch film extrusion preferred Strong understanding of LLDPE resins and film properties Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, standing, lifting, and working in a manufacturing environment Basic math, measurement, and documentation skills Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused Preferred Skills Experience with multi-layer extrusion (2-layer / 3-layer) Knowledge of cling additives, metallocene blends, and gauge control Familiarity with quality inspection tools (micrometers, gauges) Prior experience in stretch film, packaging film, or industrial plastic manufacturing Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Overtime available Paid training Growth opportunities in a growing manufacturing operation Stable, long-term position Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week Experience: Plastics extrusion: 2 years (Required) Work Location: In person
