Field Project Manager, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $100,000/year USD
Most construction project managers track progress. This role demands that you control the schedule—and restore it when the plan breaks down.2 Hour Learning is expanding a nationwide microschool network that uses AI to compress a full day of instruction into two hours. The viability of this model hinges on rapid, precise execution in the field. Permitting bottlenecks, on-site sequencing errors, and missed handoffs all slow growth. This position is designed to remove those obstacles and transform construction into a reliable, scalable process. You will be in the field driving projects forward. Managing contractors. Holding schedules. Identifying and resolving sequencing conflicts before they cause delays. You will also leverage AI and digital platforms to cut manual overhead, improve transparency, and speed up delivery. This is not hands-off oversight. You are the one who intervenes when timelines drift and pulls them back on track. If you've worked near construction but been held back by weak coordination, unclear accountability, or endless reactive firefighting, this is your opportunity to take ownership and execute correctly—at scale. What You Will Be DoingManage on-site construction operations, collaborating directly with contractors to ensure tasks are completed in correct order and on timeTake ownership of project schedules, monitor key milestones, spot emerging risks, and initiate corrective measures when slippage happensDeploy platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to organize tasks, maintain documentation, and monitor progress across live construction sitesFacilitate permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing review comments, and coordinating with relevant parties to advance approvalsIntegrate AI-driven tools to streamline planning, documentation, and decision workflows, minimizing manual work and enhancing execution velocityWhat You Won’t Be DoingMonitoring dashboards passively without stepping in when schedules begin to slipOverseeing projects from a distance without engaging with field conditions and sequencing dependenciesDepending on legacy, manual methods for tracking progress or coordinating with teamsDodging tough discussions with contractors or stakeholders when deadlines are in jeopardyDelaying action until all information is available before addressing emerging problemsField Project Manager Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure on-time delivery of school construction projects by directly managing field coordination, maintaining schedule discipline, and increasing speed and reliability through technology and AI integration.Basic RequirementsHands-on construction execution experience (field coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the capacity to describe a particular project, your contribution, and how you navigated execution obstaclesExperience taking responsibility for or coordinating a project schedule, including building timelines, monitoring milestones, and enforcing deadlines, with at least one instance of addressing a delay or schedule varianceCompetency with at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and the ability to articulate how it was applied on an actual projectFamiliarity with construction trade sequencing and the ability to describe a scenario where sequencing choices influenced the project schedulePractical understanding of permitting workflows (submissions, reviews, revisions, AHJ coordination) with direct participation in at least one permitting cycleProven application of AI tools to expedite real-world tasks, including a specific example of the tool employed, output produced, and validation method usedAvailability and willingness to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week, with roughly 60% travel throughout the United States depending on project requirementsBased in the United States and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorshipNice-to-have RequirementsExperience managing multiple construction projects simultaneouslyBackground in high-velocity or growth-stage build environments where schedules are significantly compressedInterest in refining construction workflows through automation or process improvementAbout 2 Hour LearningEducation is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be.
