Sr Network Engineer

SR NETWORK ENGINEER18 months1x a week on site in SFAs a Senior Network Engineer, you will focus on the core functions of network and security support, engineering: planning, implementation, analysis, maintenance, administration and reporting for the Retail and Corporate environment. Reporting to the Director, Network Engineering, you will be required to apply solid technical, business, and problem-solving skills and create productive relationships with business units and internal IT teams.Design, implement, and support LAN (Aruba), WAN, and WLAN (Aruba) infrastructure across corporate and retail environmentsEngineer and troubleshoot network security systems, including SSL VPN solutions, Palo Alto and Fortinet firewallsProvide end-to-end engineering and support, from end-points to Cloud Data Centers (Azure/OCI/GCP)Ensure network designs comply with security policies and industry best practicesEvaluate new and emerging network security trends, products and technologiesProvide end-to-end technical support—from endpoints to cloud data centersLead and participate in triage for high-severity incidents (P1/P2), including root cause analysis and post-incident reporting (PIR)Use Automation/Scripting to for troubleshooting and administration of repeated tasksUse Splunk to proactively analyze trends and alert on issuesManage scheduled and emergency maintenance of network infrastructureTroubleshoot WAN/SD-WAN connectivity and performance issues (MPLS, T1, DS3, QoS, etc.)Must HavesAruba wireless experience8+ years of overall network technology experience3+ years of experience with networking and security technologies in a retail environment working directly with store cast3+ years' experience in Layer7 Firewalls (Fortinet, PAN)2+ years hands-on experience with cloud networking (Azure preferred)Automation and GenAI experience a big plusIdentify opportunities for automation within software processes, including configuration, backup, and troubleshooting processes using automation and GenaiPrefer some experience in scripting languages (Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or VBScript)Load balancer experience (F5 and other lb technologies)Practical experience interacting with and integrating enterprise Large Language Models (LLMs) via APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or open-source models).Understanding of prompt engineering, model tuning, and RAG architectures tailored to ingest technical network documentation and system logs.Able to lead P1/P2 triage calls and provide detail Post Incident Report written analysisPlussesAruba Clearpass experience is extremely helpful, including 802.1X, Radius, AAA, policy Management,Soft Skills – Verbal and written communication are key attributes to be successful in this positionBe able to business needs and translate technical tasksMust be results orientated, self-motivated and possess high-energyMust be customer-service-minded and tactful when dealing with customers.
