Welding Lab OperatorJob SummaryThis position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic lab environment, utilizing basic equipment such as bandsaws, drill presses, and sanders, while contributing to critical testing processes. Based in Pasadena, TX, this long-term role is ideal for individuals eager to develop technical skills and work in a safety-conscious setting.ResponsibilitiesPrepare metal parts and specimens from base materials, weld coupons, and other materials for lab testing.Verify and document that all preparations meet specific requirements and standards.Measure and calculate dimensions and tolerances using tools like micrometers, calipers, and rulers.Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work, including lathes, milling machines, saws, grinders, and drill presses.Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools.Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal operation.Read and interpret technical documents such as cut sheets, diagrams, sketches, and job specifications.Dispose of scrap and waste materials in accordance with environmental policies.Complete internal training programs and perform additional duties as assigned by management.Maintain a safe, professional, and team-oriented work environment, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.RequirementsMinimum of two years of experience in a related field or machine shop environment.Knowledge of standard machine shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and band saws.Forklift experience or knowledge is a plus.Familiarity with technical standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 is advantageous.High School Diploma or equivalent.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, with a clean driving record, current driver’s license, and ability to pass physical, drug screening, and background checks.
