Iron Worker I
Audubon is currently seeking an Ironworker I to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Ironworker I performs skilled fabrication, erection, and installation of structural steel, reinforced iron for industrial facilities.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Pulls or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device.Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.Sets up and breaks down hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members.Fastens steel members to cable of hoist and signals to operator lifting equipment.Safe use of power tools such as saws, drills, planes, sanders, routers and grinders.Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.Identifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members.Aligns bolt members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted.Cut steel members to make alterations.Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safetyParticipating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activitiesIdentifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditionsFollowing safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirementsEXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Related trade school education is preferred.Five years' experience in the construction industry.Five years' experience as an Ironworker.Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.Steel construction and quality assurance practices and procedures.Construction safety practices.Proven experience as reading steel plans.In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to communicate and report effectively.Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
