Title: Senior Metallurgical & Welding Engineer (Advanced Manufacturing)Location: Greater Houston Area Work Environment: Shop-Floor Focused | Hands-On EngineeringWe’re partnered with a growing industrial manufacturing organization that’s making significant investments in expanding its in-house engineering and production capabilities. This is a build-oriented environment where engineering has a direct impact on the shop floor, process efficiency, and overall product quality.This role is centered around metallurgical and welding engineering, with the opportunity to expand into coatings and surface technologies for the right individual.What You’ll Be DoingServe as a shop-floor metallurgical SME, supporting manufacturing, repair, and production teamsDrive material selection decisions across nickel alloys, stainless steels, and other high-spec materialsDevelop and optimize welding procedures, including automation and robotic welding processesSupport and refine heat treatment processes to ensure performance, durability, and complianceTroubleshoot material, weld, and process-related issues in a hands-on manufacturing environmentPartner with engineering and operations to improve process consistency, throughput, and qualityWhat They’re Looking ForStrong background in metallurgy and welding engineering within a manufacturing or repair environmentHands-on experience with nickel alloys and stainless steelsProven work in heat treatment, welding procedures, and process optimizationExposure to shop-floor operations (this is not a purely theoretical role)Experience with automation, robotics, or process improvement initiatives is a plusWhy This RoleHighly visible role with direct impact on production and engineering strategySignificant investment in equipment, automation, and process capability expansionOpportunity to shape both metallurgical and coating capabilities in a growing organizationCollaborative, hands-on environment — engineers are close to the product and the processThe team is also looking for: (2nd role)The team is also investing heavily in coating and surface technology capabilities.
