Release Integration Engineer

Pay Rate: up to $72/hr on w2 (No C2C or 3rd parties)Location: onsite in Hayward, CAHelping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Release Integration Engineer - Manufacturing/End of Line to support the controlled integration and release of software and firmware for manufacturing and end-of-line (EOL) systems.In this role, you’ll work closely with the Release Management, Firmware, Infrastructure, and Integration Engineering teams to manage the flow of validated software changes into manufacturing and EOL branches. This is a hands-on integration and release engineering role, with approximately 60% focused on technical execution (Git, Linux, testing, and triage) and 40% on coordination, communication, and release processes.The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically curious, and process-driven, with strong Git and Linux experience and the ability to manage software releases in a fast-paced engineering environment.As a Release Integration Engineer - Manufacturing/End of Line, you'll:Manage the integration of validated software changes into manufacturing and EOL branches using disciplined multi-branch Git workflows.Cherry-pick, merge, and validate code changes while maintaining branch integrity and supporting release readiness.Execute Build Integrity and EOL test suites, analyze results, reproduce failures, and coordinate issue resolution with engineering teams.Tag, package, and publish validated software and firmware releases, including clear release notes and change logs.Protect homologation-sensitive branches by ensuring only validated changes are promoted into production-ready releases.Communicate daily release status, support go/no-go decisions, and coordinate cross-functional activities to keep releases on schedule.Required Qualifications: Fluency with Linux and the command line, and strong Git skills (cherry-picks, conflict resolution, protected/multi-branch workflows) with 2+ years of experience.Technical literacy with complex hardware/software systems - able to understand how components fit together and communicate credibly with engineers.Aptitude and drive to become an expert in test execution and triage.Strong process discipline and clear written communication.Proven ability to coordinate and escalate across teams under time pressure, with sound go/no-go judgment.Bonus Qualifications: Prior release, build, integration, or manufacturing-test experience (automotive, robotics, hardware, etc.).Familiarity with CI or HIL systems, Docker/containers, and firmware deployment/flashing.Exposure to Jira, structured release/change-management processes, and embedded/automotive concepts (CAN/Ethernet, ECUs).
