Overview In this role you will support the design, modification, and integration of software and hardware for flight training devices and simulators. You will work independently to ensure compliance and improve realism, resolving anomalies and guiding projects through qualification activities. You will translate requirements into workload estimates and lead design, testing, and integration tasks with cross-functional teams. This is a hands-on engineering role at CAE, focused on safe, compliant, and high-fidelity simulation systems. ResponsibilitiesDesign and modify software/hardware using established engineering standards for flight training devicesInstall, verify, test, integrate, and document new or modified designsAssess modification requirements to improve realism and fix discrepanciesConvert requirements into project workload estimatesPerform scope analysis, design, implement, test, and integrate for projectsSupport Technical Services in troubleshooting complex simulator issuesDevelop and document maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting proceduresInstall and maintain software/database updates for navigational/FMS componentsCoordinate qualification activities and ensure regulatory complianceMaintain MQTG and conduct QTG test runsManage moderately sized technical projectsProvide leadership and mentorship to junior team members Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical discipline; OR a two-year technical degree with relevant experience1-3 years coordinating projects and managing technical work activitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsWorking knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and/or WindowsWorking knowledge of FORTRAN, C/C++, and/or AssemblyAbility to perform software and hardware technical activities with minimal supervisionEffective written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skillsCustomer-focused approach and ability to collaborate across functional teamsAbility to travel occasionally (less than 10%)effective communicationteam collaborationproblem-solving mindsetsoftware/hardware design and integrationUNIX/Linux and Windows operating environmentsFORTRAN, C/C++, Assembly programming
