1st Shift Production Technician/Backup Material Handler (Monday - Thursday 5am - 3pm)
This role includes a $0.45 premium for taking on the added knowledge and responsibility of backup Material Handler.
The role of the Production Tech is to care for all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability. Technicians will ensure that assigned machines are running to their full capacity, oversee and perform light maintenance, and perform quality checks to drive Continental Plastic (CPC) profitability and achieve organizational KPI’s and strategic objectives.
Functional Responsibilities:
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment. Perform various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, clean, and complete preventive maintenance on assigned machines. Set up and operate single or multiple production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops. Check machine output and identify any issues. Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications. Inspect parts to specifications and make adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and production orders to perform required tasks.
Inspect machines with appropriate tools.
Keep updated records on all machine information and activity, defective units, and final output. Submit reports daily.
Communicate with team members and support staff across shifts, to ensure continuous production of quality parts with minimal waste.
Contribute to an environment in which all staff are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve individual and work area contributions to achieve desired business results.
Participate in related staff, team, and/or task group meetings to ensure constant communication of key items.
Ensure that all operations are within established guidelines and conform to CPC health and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Maintain current knowledge for this position and within the work area through continuing education, subscriptions, certifications, and memberships; develop thorough working knowledge of area methods, productivity, and quality.
