Classification Title: Temporary-Service Maintenance
Working Title: UTS - Temporary Research Assistant at UNC Chapel Hill
Work Schedule: (Monday - Friday between 8 am - 6 pm) Hybrid
Other Work/Responsibilities: Assist with the design and preparation of questionnaires and other survey materials
Support the coordination and facilitation of focus groups and interviews
Oversee editing and data entry of completed questionnaires to ensure accuracy
Prepare and maintain weekly data collection status reports
Develop and manage surveys using Qualtrics
Distribute web-based survey invitations and follow-up reminders
Assist with data file preparation and organization
Conduct basic statistical analysis and contribute to report writing
Support the preparation and organization of materials for student learning outcomes assessment, program review, and accreditation processes
Compile tables, summaries, and supporting documentation for assessment reports and institutional reporting needs
Minimum Experience/Education: Associate’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Education, Public Administration, Statistics, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated exposure to research methods, data collection, or data analysis through prior work experience or coursework
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data management tools
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Department Required Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Working knowledge of quantitative research methods, including standardization and data quality principles
Consistent and dependable attendance
Proactive in seeking clarification and asking questions when needed
Commitment to thoroughness, including clear documentation of study design decisions
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, organization, and manipulation
Ability to manage confidential or sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education: Coursework and/or experience in research methodology
Experience with data coding and/or data entry
Familiarity with Qualtrics survey programming
Basic knowledge of statistical software such as R, SAS, or SPSS
Interest in or familiarity with higher education assessment, including student learning outcomes, program evaluation, accreditation, or institutional reporting

Anticipated Hiring Range: $29.00 an hour
