Senior Manager Data Engineering- AWS Cloud (Irvine and LA)

Publicis Sapient is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager of Data Engineering (with AWS Cloud) to support our Fintech (investment management) client in Irvine. Working with the latest data technologies in the industry, you will be instrumental in helping our clients evolve for a more digital future.Visit our website to learn more about the work we do: https://www.publicissapient.com/Eligibility criteria:Applications are limited to ONLY U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.Preference for Irvine-LA based candidates.Willing to work in a hybrid model, with 3 days per week onsite in Irvine (Orange County).Must‑Haves:15+ years of industry experience and 5yrs of experience with AWS Cloud.Must be a hands‑on engineer, not just an architect or strategist.Required Technical Stack— AWS, Python/ PySpark, Databricks, Data Pipelines, Data Storage.Hands on with writing and reviewing production‑quality code, building proofs of concept (POCs), and handling production issues.Working knowledge of AI concepts and applications in real‑world or professional settings (strong plus).Domain Experience in investment/ asset/ wealth management, fintech operations, and/or financial services with strong understanding of the end‑to‑end investment lifecycle, investment and trading nomenclature, financial regulations, trading systems and financial platforms.Background in Consulting Experience.Your Impact:Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by leveraging data to drive customer acquisition and engagement within large‑scale digital transformation initiatives.Advance the use of enterprise‑scale data platforms as a core building block to connecting brands with consumers and enabling meaningful business transformation.Partner closely with clients to understand business objectives, translating complex needs into effective and scalable technology solutions.Act as a technical subject‑matter expert, solving complex business challenges through well‑designed data integration and database architecture.Identify, shape, and drive opportunities across the full lifecycle of client engagements, from strategy through execution.Ensure high‑quality delivery by defining development standards, enforcing best practices, and actively participating in code and design reviews.Mentor, support, and manage team membersYour Skills & Experience:Strong data engineering expertise with a background in distributed computing and a proven track record of delivering large‑scale, enterprise data platforms.Solid understanding of analytics, measurement, reporting, and business intelligence, including data modeling, insights generation, and data science conceptsHands‑on technical expertise across the modern big‑data ecosystem, including:-Data integration and ETL/ELT (e.g., ETL tools, DBT).-Streaming and messaging platforms.-NoSQL and modern data stores.-Compute and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Airflow).-Reporting, analytics, advanced visualization, and AI/ML platforms.Hands‑on experience with at least one major public cloud platform—AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Practical exposure to AWS services such as EMR, Glue, Athena, S3, and messaging services like SQS/SNS (or equivalent services in other cloud ecosystems)Demonstrated experience implementing best practices for performance, security, scalability, and cost optimization in data‑lake.Proven ability to lead and guide teams in rapidly understanding a client’s current digital ecosystem and defining a future‑state data architecture aligned with business and transformation goals.Strong point of view on build vs. buy decisions, including considerations around performance, hosting models, commercial structures, and analytics/reporting strategies.Exceptional client communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and collaborate effectively across teams.A well‑rounded profile combining consulting acumen, business and strategy awareness, deep technical expertise, and people leadership skills.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.This is an individual contributor level coding skill set.Nice-to-Have:Cloud Certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.Certifications in Machine Learning and/or Advanced Analytics Courses.Experience working with code repositories and CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as AWS CodeBuild, CodePipeline, or similar tools/technologies.Experience in data governance and lineage implementation.Multi-geo and distributed delivery experience in large programs.Willingness to travel.Additional information:Annual Pay Range (in USD): $160,000 - $240,000 (Total Compensation)The ranges shown above represent a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient.
