Heavy Equipment Haul Truck Driver

BAR Constructors, Inc., a prominent heavy-civil municipal general contractor, is looking for a Heavy Equipment Haul Truck Driver to join our developing teams in North and Central Texas. If you understand the importance of careful planning, the value of integrity, and the reward of facing a challenge, come find out why this could be your last job move, as we take this established company into its second generation.Primary Responsibilities Include:The Haul Truck Driver is responsible for operating trucks to transport dirt, aggregate, asphalt, and other materials and/or equipment to various job site locationsWill also work in the yard area to stockpile and move materials as neededThis is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucksWork will be performed per the supervisor's instructionHeavy equipment haul truck driver experience requiredMust be experienced in loading, unloading and securing all types of heavy construction equipmentOperates truck in safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, in the yard area and at various job sites to deliver materialsTrucks driven include but are not limited to: belly dumps, dump truck and semi-tractor truck with attached trailersPerforms daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelinesChecks fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operationAttaches and removes pup trailers, belly dump & side dump trailers, transfer trailers and tilt/transport trailers to truck as neededKeeps accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for billingLoad and unload equipment or materialsMonitor various gauges during operation of vehicleMaintain daily vehicle mileage logsUnrolls truck tarp to cover loads when requiredAssure product quality to the best of the Driver's abilityPerform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisorProperly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environmentReport any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources ManagerObey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructionsRegular and predictable attendance at assigned times is requiredOther duties as may be assignedStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined company policiesDisplay a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all timesWillingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as requiredJob requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, frequent lifting of extensions chutes, stretching, sitting/driving, shifting gears, and covering/uncovering load when applicableAble to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hearMay require sitting for extended periods of timeAble to work in all weather conditionsThe employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock or burnJob Requirements:Four-year degree in Construction Science or Engineering or related experienceMust pass DOT physical, drug screen and criminal background checkMVR must meet company and DOT standardsMust maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements, i.e., CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsementsWilling to train employees who may not have driving experience must currently maintain a CDL A or CDL B licenseMust be willing to travel and work away from home when requiredCompliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulationsThorough operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment to be operatedAbility to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditionsAbility to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations in order to keep time and material records, and read blueprints or other project documentsAbility to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgmentMust be familiar with securing heavy equipment and other over dimensional loadsMust be able to lift hood of truck unassisted; up to 50 lbs on an occasional basisAPPLY TODAY
