Part Time Technical Designer (Entry Level) w/ a Sense of Humor

We are seeking an entry-level, part-time Technical Designer to support our Design and Product Development teams. This role focuses on the hands-on execution and organization of the technical design process, helping ensure accurate sample measurement, clear documentation, and smooth communication across teams. This role is based in the Denver area, with the ability to work in-office 1–2 days per week, and averages approximately 20 hours per week. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Sample Management, Measurement & Testing Measure incoming samples accurately and consistently according to established standards. Check samples against specs and flag discrepancies or issues for review. Run wash tests on samples according to internal testing standards and care instructions. Measure and document pre- and post-wash results, noting shrinkage, torque, or appearance changes. Maintain organized sample tracking throughout the development process. Technical Documentation & PLM Import and maintain measurements, specs, wash results, and fit notes within the PLM system. Support tech pack updates based on direction from the Senior Technical Designer. Ensure technical information is clearly documented, accurate, and up to date. Fit Process & Communication Organize and prepare for fittings, including sample readiness and documentation. Capture, organize, and manage fit comments from fittings. Share fit notes, wash results, and updates with Product Development, Design, and the Senior Technical Designer in a clear and timely manner. Cross-Functional Support Partner closely with Design and Product Development to support fit and development needs. Assist with general technical design tasks as needed to keep projects moving efficiently. Requirements Technical Foundation Entry-level experience or education in technical design, apparel construction, or patternmaking. Basic understanding of garment construction, fabric behavior, and fit principles. Ability to measure garments accurately and consistently. Attention to Detail & Organization Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Comfortable managing multiple styles and deadlines simultaneously. Able to follow established processes and documentation standards. Communication & Collaboration Clear, professional communicator (written and verbal). Comfortable working cross-functionally and taking direction from senior team members. Willing to ask questions and learn. Ways of Working Based in the Denver area and able to work in-office 1–2 days per week. Comfortable working in a part-time role (~20 hours per week). Reliable, accountable, and eager to grow technical design skills. NICE TO HAVES: Experience with a PLM system (training provided if needed). Internship or assistant experience in technical design or product development. Familiarity with knits or intimates. Prior exposure to basic garment testing or wash testing.
