Staff Accountant

JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in accounting within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.In this role, you will focus on preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting the month-end close process. You will work closely with senior accounting staff to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, investigate variances, and maintain well-supported account balances.This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical accounting skills, build a strong professional foundation, and grow within a supportive and team-oriented environment.Hybrid work environment (2–3 days in-office per week, as needed)ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare and post journal entriesPerform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesSupport month-end and year-end close activitiesMaintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledgerAnalyze account activity and investigate variancesAssist in preparation of financial reports and supporting schedulesSupport audit requests by preparing documentation and reconciliationsPartner with internal teams to ensure accurate financial dataREQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCEFoundational understanding of GAAP and how it applies to journal entries and account balancesStrong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issuesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) is preferredHigh attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysisStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsProactive, self-starter with a willingness to learnEDUCATION & TRAININGBachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)Minimum GPA of 3.8 preferredInternship or relevant hands-on experience in accounting or auditExposure to financial close processes or reconciliations is a plusExzeo offers 100% employer-paid health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance for employees, a flexible paid time off plan, a 401(k) match, and bonus potential.Apply today!
