PACU Nurse (RN) - Keaau, Hawaii

A nursing opportunity is available in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a healthcare facility in Keaau, HI. This contract position requires a qualified RN with PACU expertise to provide exceptional care for patients recovering from surgery. The area provides a rich cultural atmosphere, mild tropical climate, and easy access to outdoor activities such as hiking, beach visits, and exploring nearby volcanic landscapes, making it ideal for those who seek both professional and personal fulfillment.ResponsibilitiesProvide care for patients in pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery stagesUtilize critical care skills to monitor incision sites, temperature, and vital signsOperate medical equipment including Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips MonitorsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomesQualifications & ExperienceMinimum 2 years of critical care RN experience (ER or ICU experience may substitute PACU experience)Valid Registered Nurse license within the state of Hawaii (must have by assignment start)Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart AssociationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification recommended or required for some rolesAdditional specialty certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) preferredScheduleVariable shifts: 8, 10, or 12 hours (Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, Holidays)Assignments may include Acute Surgery Unit (ASU) and PACU rotationsOn-call shifts required 0-3 times per month, including 8-hour nights and 24-hour weekends/holidaysNo guaranteed hours or preferred shiftsImportant InformationCandidates must arrive the Thursday prior to starting to complete an employee health appointment on FridayProof of flu vaccination or approved exemption is mandatory before contract startLicensure in the state of Hawaii is required by the assignment start date; travelers without it must apply immediately upon offer acceptanceThis contract opportunity offers a chance to enhance your critical care nursing career within a vibrant Hawaiian community.
