Structural Welder (FCAW / GTAW)Holtec International is seeking highly skilled welders proficient in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) to support the fabrication of critical components for the nuclear, energy, and heavy industrial sectors. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in multiple welding positions and processes and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and precision in a heavy-plate manufacturing environment. The welder is responsible for performing high-quality welds on carbon steel and stainless steel using a variety of welding processes including FCAW in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions, as well as GTAW. This position involves the setup and operation of automatic, semi-automatic, and manual welding equipment. Welders are expected to follow technical drawings and specifications to ensure that all work meets Holtec's rigorous quality standards.Specific areas of responsibility include:Perform all work safely in compliance with Holtec safety policies and PPE requirementsPrepare, position, align, and fit materials per engineering drawings, work orders, and WPSExecute welds in required positions meeting visual and radiographic (X-ray) standardsUse measurement and layout tools to verify dimensions and tolerancesLayout, tack, heat-bend, clamp, grind, and bolt components for proper alignmentMonitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent distortion or overheatingVisually inspect welds to ensure compliance with AWS and Holtec quality standardsOperate manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment (GTAW, FCAW, SAW, plasma arc)Safely handle materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipmentMaintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work areaMinimum required qualifications:High school diploma or GED required24 years of welding experience in heavy plate manufacturing or industrial environmentsAbility to perform and pass FCAW weld tests in 2G and 3G positionsProficiency in FCAW and GTAW on carbon and stainless steelAbility to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documentationWorking knowledge of AWS standards and industry best practicesOptional additional qualifications:ASME Section IX and/or AWS D1.1/D1.6 certificationExperience in nuclear or high-spec industrial fabrication environmentsMulti-process welding experience (SMAW, GMAW, SAW)Familiarity with digital weld documentation and inspection tools*Must pass pre-employment weld tests administered in accordance with Holtec's WPS requirements. May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends, or travel based on production needs. Salary range: $30.00 - $43.00 per hour based on experience.
