Registered Nurse - Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic

We're seeking a RN to deliver high quality and evidence-based care to oncology patients and their families. The RN oversees the administration and management of various medical procedures and treatments, including, but not limited to antineoplastic treatments, immunotherapy treatments, blood product administration, and therapeutic phlebotomy.The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being.The Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Oversees the administration and management of various medical procedures and treatments in the infusion setting, including, but not limited to antineoplastic treatments, immunotherapy treatments, blood product administration, and therapeutic phlebotomyAssumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.Administers medications and procedures.Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.Completes physiological assessments and completes documentation in the electronic health record.Triages patient problems and assists in the evaluation of symptoms and initiates interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.Preferred Experience:* 2 years chemotherapy infusion experienceWork Schedule: Adhoc/intermittent. Work is sporadic and unpredictable so that a tour of duty may not be regularly scheduled in advance. Expected availability for this position is (2), 8-hour shifts per biweekly pay period. Additional hours may be scheduled as needed.
