Cosmetic Dermatology Medical AssistantCompensation: Starting $22-$23 (TBD with experience)Location/Home Office: Bucktown (1765 N Elston)Scheduled Hours: Monday through Friday availability, following provider scheduleReports To: Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Manager / Physician LeadershipJob Summary: Manage and coordinate the patient relationship by providing courteous and professional service in all interactions. Assignments include appointment scheduling, scribing patient visits, answering triage, hands on assisting, counseling patients, before and after clinic preparations, patient care follow ups, and other patient inquiry and problem resolution.This role is primarily a float/runner position within our cosmetic clinic, with hands-on training in Medical Assistant skills. You will act as support coverage when a cosmetic assistant is out of the office or unavailable, making this a great opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced cosmetic clinical environment.Job Responsibilities Specific Responsibilities:Quick learner, able to learn cosmetic dermatology procedures, terminology, and codingKnowledgeable in sterilization procedures for rooms and instrumentsAble to quickly build positive relationships with a wide variety of patients and personality stylesGood listener able to communicate information in a clear and concise mannerAble to communicate relevant information to the physician prior to each visitAble to provide accurate education on procedures, treatments and products to patientsAble to communicate pre- and post-care instructionsAble to jump in and assist with a variety of cosmetic procedures, anticipating the needs of the doctor, helping to ensure a quality outcomeHave strong EMR and technology skillsAble to scribe accurately and completely during cosmetic visitsAble to help with patient triage and call backsAble to cross promote and provide patients with additional information on the full range of services offered at practice locationTeam player able to provide excellent physician support and patient careWork well in a team environment where the doctor is the leader of their teamPosition Qualifications Required Qualifications:Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA policies related to a group practiceExperience with EMR and practice management systemsCurrent certification in BLS/CPRPassion for cosmetic dermatologyExcellent attention to detailFlexibility to match weekly schedule with ProviderComfortable with needles, blood and proceduresPreferred Qualifications:1-2 years Dermatology or Cosmetic Surgery ExperienceFamiliar with ModMed/EMAMinimum Qualifications:High School Graduate2+ years customer service experienceWell developed written and oral communication skillsDemonstrates understanding of customer service principlesAbility to accurately record and transmit detailed informationAbility to use tact and sensitivity to timing in personal transactionsPrevious experience in operating office systems: personal computer, printers, copiers, fax, postage machine, telephone, etc.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and working at a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at timesVSD Core Values:Having fun.
