Find your future with us.Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing St. Louis Structures and Materials Test Lab team in Berkeley, MO. The Manufacturing Engineer is an assembly and installation engineer within BT&E that supports fabrication planning & setup/installation by providing design review, manufacturing plan authorship, and fabrication sourcing (inside and outside of Boeing) followed by support at the aircraft during installation or in the laboratory during setup. They are also expected to work closely with our in-house shop team comprised of tooling and aircraft mechanics which support our operations.The Structures and Materials Test Lab supports the full structural testing needs of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Programs in St. Louis and St. Charles, including component tests up to full-scale aircraft testing.Manufacturing Engineers are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration, build plan, and process requirements. Manufacturing Engineering performs Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develops an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to ensure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on the latest military weapons and aircraft programs, such as: T-7A Redhawk, MQ-25A Stingray, various Phantom Works programs, various Boeing Weapons programs, and our legacy programs like F-15 and F/A-18 into the future.Position Responsibilities:Supports the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologiesParticipates as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to support the integration of technical solutions across multiple disciplinesSupports the development, identification and implementation of conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for buildParticipates in the implementation of manufacturing plansInvestigates technical problemsParticipates in the implementation of Lean principles and technologiesInterfaces with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experienceSynthesis of test hardware & instrumentation requirements in support of machine shop fabrication, laboratory and flight testReview of design models and drawingsCreating/reviewing redlines and coordinating with design to incorporate updatesAuthorship of manufacturing plans to facilitate buildSourcing of fabrication & assembly including work statement creation as neededFabrication coordination and liaisonPart sourcing from productionProcurement of parts/material to support testCoordination with supplier managementShipside (at the aircraft) support of test hardware and/or instrumentation installationAt times support manufacturing engineering tasks across different Boeing sitesClose coordination with:Test engineers and techniciansInstrumentation engineersBoeing program engineersBoeing customersFabrication technicians and support personnel (material management)Electrical and mechanical designers across BT&E and program teamsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is requiredBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statementExperience in engineering design or manufacturing engineeringExperience working with manufacturing planning toolsExperience with a design tool (CAD package) like CATIA, Siemens NX, etc.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
