This location serves as our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development, as well as high-complexity production programs. This position will join an exceptional cross-functional team of engineers and technicians to fabricate components and assemble them into some of the most advanced solid rocket systems in the world. Aerojet Rocketdyne is an industry-leading supplier of missile components for national defense programs. This role may perform functions such as component fabrication, equipment cleaning and assembly, tool and work-area cleaning, machinery operation, mixing or processing liner materials, applying liner to cases and components, pressure testing, bonding, assembly, painting, precision part cleaning, mixing adhesives, torquing fasteners, and other duties required to assemble and prepare products for shipment. The role maintains records for manufactured products, follows all safety requirements, and keeps a clean and orderly work area. This position will also support mix/grind/cast operations at the facility. Working under direct supervision, the Manufacturing Technician performs routine and repetitive duties within the manufacturing operations area and applies general manufacturing knowledge to basic problems to determine logical solutions.Essential Functions:Precision assembly of complex aerospace componentsPerform case prep, line and cast, cure, strip, and machining of solid rocket propellantSupport mix/grind/cast operations with energetic materialsPerform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or leadQualifications:Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.Preferred Additional Skills:Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearanceAbility to understand and follow written and oral instructionsAbility to follow strict safety practicesStrong teamwork and communication skillsAbility to perform mathematical calculations accurately and efficientlyAbility to work with management, supervisors, or leads to prioritize work and meet deadlinesAbility to read, interpret, and understand work instructions and drawingsExperience with precision assembly, including torque tooling, mixing/applying adhesives, and leak-check testingIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $22.84/hr - $42.55/hr. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $19.95/hr - $36.78/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
