Our holistic approach to veterinary medicine focuses on practice legacy, team, veterinarians, patients and community.The PositionThe Benefits Specialist will be a trusted contributor of the People & Culture team. Within the team, the Benefits Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k).Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Administration: Manage day-to-day operations of all benefit programs, including life event changes, enrollments, and terminationsTeam Member Support: Serve as point of contact for Team Member inquiries regarding coverage, claims, and vendor issuesOpen Enrollment: Assist with annual open enrollment process, including preparing materials and conducting information sessionsData Accuracy: Maintain, reconcile, and audit benefits data in the HRIS/payroll system and vendor invoicesLeave Management: Assist with the administration of leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short- and long-term disability as well as State leave programs where applicableWorkers' Compensation: Assist with processing of injury incidents and workers' compensation claims and ensure proper OSHA regulations are followedVendor Relations: Act as a liaison with insurance brokers and carriers to resolve issuesAnnual Audit Processes: Assist with annual workers' compensation and 401k auditsBenefit Invoice Reconciliation: Monthly reconciliation of all benefit invoicesQualifications & Experience:2+ years of benefits administration experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsProficient with Microsoft ExcelAbility to carry out tasks with a very high attention to detailAbility to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlinesTeam playerKnowledge of Paycor, our HRIS software, is beneficial
