Job Title: L1 Technician (Data Center Support)Location: Reno, NV (Onsite) (Need Local)Client: NVIDIAExperience: 1–2 YearsDuration: Long Term ContractJob Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented L1 Technician to support basic data center operations, including server handling, installation, and cabling. This role requires hands-on work with hardware and close coordination with network and system administrators.Key Responsibilities:Move and position servers and network switches for installation within the data center.Inspect servers and switches for any physical damage prior to installation.Perform basic “smoke testing” to ensure servers are powering on and functioning correctly.Install servers and switches, and perform cabling as per provided wiring diagrams.Ensure all cabling is neatly bundled and aligned with NVIDIA standards.Coordinate with network administrators to verify proper connections and network readiness.Install additional hardware components such as NICs, memory, and drives as required.Assist with unboxing, staging, and preparation of server equipment.Perform audits of servers, components, and consumables to maintain inventory accuracy.Required Qualifications:1–2 years of experience in IT support, hardware installation, or data center operations.Basic understanding of server hardware and networking concepts.Familiarity with cabling standards and physical infrastructure setup.Ability to follow technical instructions and wiring diagrams.Strong attention to detail and ability to work in an onsite environment.Preferred Skills:Exposure to data center environments or large-scale IT infrastructure.Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware issues.Good communication and teamwork skills.
