Human Resource Generalist (Manufacturing Industry)
Full time salaried opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Generalist.Onsite: 5 days per week in Edina, MNWork authorization requirements: US Citizen or GC holderWHAT YOU’LL DO: As a hands-on, execution focused Human Resources Generalist you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of HR operations. This position ensures accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of core HR processes across the employee lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on recruiting coordination, leave administration, HRIS transactions, and employee support.This role is critical to maintaining operational continuity while the organization transitions from manual processes toward increased automation over the next several years.Team Size: 3HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle ExecutionExecute daily HR processes including onboarding, employee changes, offboarding, and record maintenanceMaintain accurate employee data in HRIS (ADP preferred)Serve as first point of contact for routine employee and manager inquiriesEnsure consistent application of company policies and proceduresFull-Cycle Recruiting (Primary Ownership)Manage recruiting process for hourly and salaried rolesCoordinate job postings, interviews, and candidate communicationsFacilitate pre-employment processes (background checks, drug screens, physicals, etc.)Support hiring managers with scheduling and offer coordinationLeave & Compliance AdministrationAdminister and track FMLA, STD, Workers’ Compensation, ESST, and other leavesMaintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with MN employment lawsCoordinate with payroll, managers, and third-party administratorsFile and manage Workers’ Compensation claims and related documentationBenefits AdministrationSupport enrollments, changes, and employee communicationsAssist with Open Enrollment coordination and executionPartner with brokers, carriers, and plan administratorsMaintain accurate benefits records and billing coordinationPolicy Support & Employee Relations (Escalation-Based)Interpret and apply company policies (discipline, attendance, etc.)Respond to employee questions and guide managers on policy usageEscalate complex or sensitive issues to Senior HR ManagerReporting, Compliance & DocumentationSupport compliance reporting (EEO-1, OSHA, AAP, unemployment, etc.)Generate HR reports and assist with audits and data trackingDocument and standardize HR processes (SOP creation is a key focus)What We’re Looking For5–7 years of hands-on HR experience with strong operational executionExperience in a manufacturing environment (required)Background in broad HR roles (not highly specialized or large corporate-only experience)Proven ability to manage multiple processes with minimal directionStrong attention to detail, organization, and follow-throughExperience with leave administration (FMLA required)Working knowledge of Minnesota employment lawsHRIS experience (ADP preferred)Success ProfileThis role is ideal for someone who:Enjoys execution over strategyIs comfortable working in a less structured, evolving environmentCan handle manual processes while helping build future improvementsValues being part of a tight-knit, family-oriented companyUnderstands the realities and flexibility required in manufacturing HRThe salary pay range for this type of role is approximately $75,000-80,000.
