Job DescriptionJosephy & Co. is a well-established CPA firm that is growing quickly. We are seeking driven candidates with great inter-personal skills to join our company. We focus on providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to small businesses and their owners. This role is perfect for someone that wants to lead a team and develop their career in a boutique CPA firm with a family-oriented environment.ResponsibilitiesReview and preparation of individual, s-corporation, partnership, and trust tax returnsProvide review comments, teach, and mentor the teamReview client financials and post adjusting journal entries to prepare tax returnsRecognizing tax adjustments and applying the tax law appropriatelyTake initiative and display creativity in solving complex client issuesResearch tax issues and legislationHandle correspondence with taxing authoritiesInteract with clients regarding tax return open items, results, & projectionsManage various types of clients, projects, and deadlinesDemonstrate excellent oral and written communication with clientsSkillsLeadership amongst a close and hardworking teamWilling to assist and work on any project to ensure the team succeedsAbility to delegate tasks and coordinate workflow within a teamThorough knowledge of individual, s-corporation, and partnership tax returnsAbility to execute projects independently from conception to completionStrong understanding of tax adjustments and cash basis tax returnsProficient in reviewing client documents and identifying open itemsAbility to problem-solve and think both creatively and logicallyStrong understanding of basic and complex accounting principlesDetail oriented with strong analytical skillsOutlook and ExcelExperience with UltraTax CS and TaxDome are a bonus – not requiredExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience working in a CPA firm and performing all of the above responsibilitiesCPA not required, but should be a goal as you grow with the firmJob typeFull-time position with a focus on longevity as the company continues to growBenefitsCompetitive salary based on the market and strength of candidateFlexibility to work remotely/work from homeHealth insurancePaid time off, vacation days, sick days, and holidaysPerformance based bonus pay (twice a year)Work/life balance with a family first focusSome months include half day Fridays401(k)401(k) matchingBereavement leaveFlexible scheduleOpportunities for advancementPaid sick time/Paid time off/Paid trainingPlease respond with resume and salary or hourly wage requirements.
