Senior Tax Associate

Job descriptionJosephy & Co. is a well-established CPA firm that is growing quickly. We are seeking driven candidates with great inter-personal skills to join our company. We focus on providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to small businesses and their owners. This role is perfect for someone that wants to grow their career in a boutique CPA firm with a family-oriented environment. You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of tax and accounting work while building your own relationship directly with clients.Responsibilities Prepare individual, s-corporation, partnership, and trust tax returns Prepare workpapers and organize client documents to support tax return preparation Review client financials and post adjusting journal entries to prepare tax returns Identify open items and communicate with clients regarding missing information Recognize tax adjustments and apply tax law appropriately Research tax issues and legislation Assist with tax projections and tax planning assignments Manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines during busy seasons Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication with clients and team members You'll have a strong team of experienced professionals (including 4 CPAs) around you for guidance and growth every step of the waySkills Strong work ethic and willingness to learn within a close and hardworking team Ability & willingness to work on a variety of projects and support the team where needed Knowledge of individual, s-corporation, and partnership tax returns Understanding of tax adjustments and cash basis tax returns Ability to review client documents and identify open items Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Strong understanding of basic accounting principles Detail oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Outlook and Excel Experience with UltraTax CS and TaxDome are a bonus – not requiredExperience Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a CPA firm or tax-focused role Experience preparing tax returns is required CPA not required, but should be a goal as you grow with the firmJob type Full-time position with a focus on longevity as the company continues to growBenefits Competitive salary based on the market and strength of candidate Flexibility to work remotely/work from home Health insurance Paid time off, vacation days, sick days, and holidays Performance based bonus pay (twice a year) Work/life balance with a family first focus Some months include half day Fridays 401(k) 401(k) matching Bereavement leave Flexible schedule Opportunities for advancement Paid sick time/Paid time off/Paid trainingPlease respond with resume and salary or hourly wage requirements.
